In 1975 the R&L Company distributed their famous put-together model kits via retail sales. The Aurora Modeling company was one of those chosen to sell the kits. The Snap-A-Roos were boxed sets of three to five individually wrapped model kits. The plastic models were the same ones that R&L distributed as cereal premiums complete with the individual cellophane wrappers. Also include in the box were a set of instructions of how to build the kits. Bellow are some of the boxes of Snap-A-Roos model kits that I have. You can click on a box to see what the contents are. |

I do not know how many different themes or boxed sets of Snap-A-Roos the Aurora company made but there must be several more than the ones shown above. An interesting observation about this packaging is the little boy who is shown on each box. He is present on the box holding one of the figures from that particular set. I would assume that when Aurora planned the graphics for the box they must have had photos taken of this boy with each piece in the same day. However if you note on each boxed set he is wearing a different colored turtleneck sweater. He must have hated that day. |
